 elevision host born in Tennessee on 22nd May, 1909 and arriving in Australia in 1937.He began his career by playing in a hillbilly show at the Tivoli in Sydney before shooting to fame as host of popular quiz shows including the highly successful television show - Pick-A-Box. Champions on Pick-A-Box were Victoria Cross winner Frank Partridge and former Federal minister Barry Jones. Dyer was a keen big-game fisherman. Dyer died in 1984.  |
