Former Australian and Queensland Rugby League captain, born in Brisbane on 1st December, 1959.

'King Wally' was captain of australia from 1984-89 and captained his state in 30 State of Origin matches from 1980-91.

Wally had a spell as coach of Queensland and is now seen mainly as a commentator on channel 9 sports shows or 'The Footy Show' with fellow Queenslander 'Fatty' Vautin.
