Test bowler and allround cricketer who was born in Sydney on 3rd October, 1921.

Gave up a promising Rugby league career for his cricket.

With his classic bowling action he took 228 wickets in 61 Test matches and scored 2 Test centuries as bat.

Ray retired aged 38 and died in 1996.
