Snooker champion known as 'Fast Eddie' born in NSW on 31st October, 1929.

Eddie worked as a miner for 15 years before taking up the game as a professional.

In 1968 Charlton won the World Open Snooker Championship, holding the title for the next 10 years.

In 1976, Eddie shot the ultimate snooker score with a break of 147 points.
