 hampion Olympic sprinter. Now 47 and living at Queensland's Sunshine Coast, Raelene represented Australia at 3 Olympic Games - Mexico ' 68, Munich ' 72 and Montreal in 1976.
In March 1996 she was diagnosed as having breast cancer and two operations, chemotherapy and radiation treatment ensued when it was found the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. Still recovering, she said "I also thought it would be good for my own recovery to be out in the field doing something positive, to be part of a new team." In 1998 Raelene was named by the National Trust as one of the 100 Australia's Living National Treasures.  |
