29 year old singer born in Cairns, the third of Torres Strait Islander mother Zipporah's seven children. Part of her growing up time was on the islands, where singing is a daily part of life, whether it be to bless the food or beat the occasional boredom. She has a son, 3 year old Kuiam, by a former partner. In 1995 her debut album was Stylin' Up. Currently she is in playing the role of Mimi, a HIV positive exotic dancer, in the hit musical Rent. Other musicals include Bad Boy Johnny and the Prophets of Doom in 1994 and the short-lived Little Shop of Horrors in 1996.  |
