Kathy Lette

Author, born in the Sydney suburb of Sylvania, who came to prominence when she was 19, with her first book Puberty Blues, a book about the darker side of 70s beach culture, which was then made into a film by Bruce Beresford.

Lette, now 40, has lived for the last 10 years in London with husband, human rights lawyer, Geoffrey Robertson.

The Lette-Robertsons have a son, Julius, and a daughter, Georgina. They hope to rear the children in Australia in the 2000s.

Kathy's close friends include British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, with his wife Cherie, and actor Jeremy Irons.

Her Foetal Attraction reached No. 1 on the UK best seller list and its sequel Mad Cows is being made into a movie, starring Joanna Lumley. Paramount Pictures have just bought the film rights to her latest novel Altar Ego.
