 aster Hunter Valley winemaker famous for the Wyndham Estate label from 1970 to 1991 and then Brian McGuigan Wines Ltd formed in 1992.Brian is managing director of the public listed company which makes about 750,000 dozen bottles of wine per annum. Some 60% of this amount is exported, mainly to U.S.A. and U.K. Publications akin to American Wine Spectator constantly praise the virtues of McGuigan's wines. McGuigan's now have the largest vineyard holdings in the Hunter Valley with vineyards in Mudgee, Cowra and Limestone Coast in South Australia not yet in full production.
Brian's tip for wine lovers is petit verdot, a variety of red Bordeaux. McGuigan's '97 Shareholders' shiraz was rated best in the Hunter Valley by Winestate Magazine. Lucky shareholders!
