 rofessor Geoffrey Blainey AO was born on March 11th, 1930.The noted historian was educated at the University of Melbourne before setting out on his illustrious career. He was awarded his Order of Australia in 1975. Blainey wrote the award winning The Tyranny Of Distance as well as Triumph Of The Nomads. Blainey was an appointed delegate at the Constitutional Convention in Canberra in February, 1998.
