 emocrat senator and the first indigenous politician from NSW to make it to Federal Parliament. The 36 year old, a leader of the Gumbayyngirr people, grew up in the north coast of NSW near Nambucca Heads. Aden joined the Democrats pre-Mabo, pre-Wik and more-so pre-Hanson in 1991 with a plan to run for office by 2000. Winning his ticket in 1998, Aden then met Neville Bonner, the first aboriginal elected to Parliament in Australia.  |
