 rtist born on 28th July, 1902 in the Northern Territory.In the 1930s he began painting the landscape of central Australia in watercolour. He was tutored by Tex Battarbee during the 30s.  In Melbourne 1938, at his first exhibition, all 41 paintings on display were sold. Namatjira died in 1959.  |
