A mock obituary to English cricket appeared in London's The Times public notice section after Australian cricketers defeated England in 1882.

The first Test between Australia and England was played at Lord's in 1878. Australia won by 45 runs.

The Centenary Test played in Melbourne came up with the same result - Australia won by 45 runs.
