 ctor, John William Goffage was born in Broken Hill, NSW, on 26th March, 1909.
The film career of this tall actor began in the late '30s and he seemed to attract roles depicting him as the symbolic rugged, easy going Aussie male with its mateship overtones, especially in films like Bush Christmas and Rats Of Tobruk. Chips last film was Wake In Fright. Rafferty died in 1971.  |
